    Responsibilities

    Schedule:
    Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm (not to exceed 40 hours/week)
    May require some flexible time/odd hours on occasion to complete studies
    No Overtime
    No Weekends or Holidays
     
    Job Specific Details and Tasks:
    Provides Project Support
    • Conduct research studies primarily for the Tactical Combat Casualty Care, Combat Trauma and Burn Trauma task area including data collection and management of different aspects of the project.
    • Contractor will work with the sponsors, Principal investigators, and Institutional Review board to coordinate activities for protocol approval and implementation and to assure that appropriate regulatory documentation is completed.
    • Contractor will assist with the development and preparation of protocols (to include clinical and healthy human).
    Project support
    • Contractor will screen and consent potential study subjects
    • Maintain updated study documents in accordance with Good Clinical Practice guidelines including preparation of project reports and study amendments
    • The primary support function of the research coordinator will be to collect data using clinical skills as required to include drawing blood, administering medications and operating critical care and data acquisition monitoring equipment
    • Coordination and planning of meetings, supplies, and other study logistics
    Data dissemination
    • Contractor will assist PIs with the preparation of papers for publication or presentation
    • Participation in clinical rounds, meetings and training programs (position specific)
    • Contractor will maintain data collected in a workable format such as Excel, or any of the institutes statistical programs for analysis. Contactor shall also assist in the analysis of collected data for use in publications or presentations (position specific)

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Education:  Minimum ASN; BSN preferred
    License/Certification: Must hold an active unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas and possess an Advanced Life Support (ALS) Certification (may be obtained upon selection)
    Experience:  Possess at least two (2) years' experience in a specialty department, such as OR, ICU, or ER; Recent research experience is a plus; must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
    Security:  Must be a US Citizen and able to pass a government background check; active favorable NACI or higher preferred.
