    Responsibilities

    Schedule:
    Normal Hours are Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm
    Schedule may vary dependent upon need
    No Holidays/Weekends or On-Call
     
    Job Specific Details and Tasks:
     
    • Shall provide full spectrum Internal Medicine care encompassing outpatient clinical and procedural services. This will be provided in a cost-effective manner that focuses on patient-centered evidence-based outcomes. The General Internal Medicine Physician will collaborate with staff and other clinical departments within and outside the MTF to facilitate excellent patient care and will be expected to participate fully as a member of the 99 MDG medical staff.
    • The General Internal Medicine Physician will have sufficient experience to be able to adequately diagnose and treat diseases/injuries to include but not limited to; Cardiovascular diseases (congestive heart failure, hypertension, arrhythmias, acute myocardial infarction), respiratory diseases (asthma, bronchitis, pulmonary thromboembolism, pulmonary insufficiency & adult respiratory distress syndrome), gastrointestinal diseases (peptic ulcer, gastritis, pancreatitis, cirrhosis & alcoholic liver), endocrinology (disease of the thyroid & diabetes mellitus), rheumatology (sarcoidosis, degenerative joint disease), renal disease (acute renal failure, urinary tract infection), neurology (epilepsy & cerebrovascular disease) and infectious diseases (infectious diarrheas, bacterial infections, hospital-acquired infections, tuberculosis, infections of the compromised host & other microbacterial infections).
    • The General Internal Medicine Physician’s productivity, in terms of patients seen per clinic day is expected to be comparable to that of the other civilian and military General Internal Medicine Physicians assigned to the same facility and authorized the same scope of practice. Productivity will meet current Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) standards for Nellis Air Force Base. The MGMA standard is updated annually on the fiscal year. It is the Contractor’s responsibility to contact Medical Logistics for an updated copy.
    • Shall see new patient consults and established follow-up clinic visits. The HCW is expected to participate in telehealth and virtual encounters as well as respond to telephone consults and secure messages IAW pertinent AFIs and local policies. The HCW will also consult with other specialty practitioners for consultative opinions and continuation of care.

     

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Education: Graduate of an approved medical school; completion of an Internal Medicine residency
    Experience: Minimum 2 years experience, may include residency
    Security:  Government background check required
    License/Certification and Training: Active/unrestricted license from any state; Board Certified or Eligible by ABIM; BLS/ACLS
