ERP International, LLC (www.erpinternational.com) is currently seeking a Clinical Research Nurse/Coordinator for a full-time position supporting the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research West (WRAIR-W) at Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA.  The objective of this work is to perform research and analysis to develop products and interventions aimed at preventing and/or reversing the decrementing effects of operational stressors such as physical fatigue, mental load, compromised sleep, physical injuries, combat exposure and trauma, and environmental factors (e.g., austere, tropical, arctic, high altitude, subterranean, and dense urban) on the health and performance of the warfighter.  Please apply online to learn more about this great opportunity!

Responsibilities

Job Specific Details and Tasks:

Research assistants are responsible for supporting WRAIR-W scientists with the execution of human subjects research related to psychology, brain health, and human performance. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Assist with patient interviews, patient recruitment, enrollment, and verify patient eligibility for clinical investigative studies.
  • Observe patients after administration of study medication for adverse events.
  • Take and properly record vital signs, performing venipuncture and specimen collection and processing.
  • Complete case report forms, maintain up-to-date research logs, schedule appointments, prepare patient recruitment letters, and various other study correspondence as required.
  • Educate patients about clinical research protocols, study requirements and expectations.
  • Adhere to legal, professional and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy.
  • Collaborate with other members of the research team to ensure consistent practice in patient care management.
  • Monitor on-site study sites to meet with, assist and consult with study investigators.
  • Recruit and schedule all study site personnel as required.
  • Ensure compliance with subject consenting and reporting of adverse events and side effects.
  • Track the expenditures for all study-related activities, including supplies and equipment.
  • Create study documents, including protocols and amendments thereof, consent forms, data collections forms.
  • Provide inputs to final reports that document the research findings for human use protocols including, but not limited to those listed above.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Education:  Minimum Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in either psychology, cognitive science, neuroscience, or related field; fluent in English;

Experience: 3 years of research experience; phlebotomy experience for blood draws; clinical research background preferred

Security:  Must be a US Citizen and must be able to pass a government background check and obtain a CAC

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Education:  Registered Nurse or Master's of Science degree;

Experience:   More than 5 years supporting human subjects research; experience working with military or veteran population; experience with psychology research software such as Qualitrics, Inquisit, SPSS, or similar.
