Responsibilities

Schedule:

Monday - Friday  0600-1600 - 8, 9 or 10 hour shifts depending on the departments needs

No Holidays or Weekends!


Job Specific Responsibilities and Tasks: Duties may include but are not limited to:

Core Duties:
• Provide a full range of outcome-based nurse practitioner services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF (e.g., provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).
• Technically direct and teach other staff, provide evidenced-based educational lectures and participate in in-service training to staff members.
• Diagnose and treat patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols, clinical practice guidelines, Nurse Practice Acts, and/or in consultation with a physician.
• Promote preventive care and health maintenance including annual physicals, positive health behaviors and self-care through both formal and individual education and counseling.
• Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
• Recognize conditions that require isolation and ensure universal precautions are used in all patient encounters.
• Attend staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, and continuous quality improvement and safety.


Additional Duties.

  • Analyze the results of the health care plan, modify the health care plan as needed, and implement and participate in follow-up.
  • Participate in meetings to review and evaluate the care provided to patients, identify opportunities to improve the care delivered, and recommend corrective action when problems exist. Should a meeting occur outside of the HCW’s regular working hours, the HCW shall be required to read and initial the minutes of the meeting.
  • Participate in the provision of monthly in-service training to non-health care- practitioner members of the clinical and administrative staff on subjects germane to the HCW’s specialty.
  • Provide for an optimum physical environment for patients and staff, emphasizing good safety practices and cleanliness.
  • Support preventive maintenance and report equipment failures and inadequacies.
  • Promote economical utilization of equipment, supplies and be cost conscious when ordering lab and radiological studies.
  • Know the location and operation of emergency equipment.
  • Adhere to departmental and hospital safety guidelines.
  • Attend Boards and Committees, Continuing Education, and Quality Assurance Functions consistent with the requirements of the position.
  • Participate in a multidisciplinary team with other health care providers and providing consultative services pursuant to optimal health care delivery to patients suffering from pain.
  • Work with physicians in a multidisciplinary team to provide drug therapy recommendations, perform polypharmacy management, and provide patient education regarding changes in drug therapy.
  • Participate in an on-site designated Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO) tele-mentoring training program.
  • Participate in tele-mentoring, tele-medicine, and tele-consults.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degree:Master's degree in nursing.
• Education:
Education: Graduate from an academic program, within the nursing specialty field of study that is accredited by a regional or national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
• Experience:
Possess a minimum of two years of full-time experience as a Nurse Practitioner within the preceding three years

* Certification:Certified in the specialty required by the TO as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or the recognized national nursing certification organization for the specialty area of practice as appropriate (for example, National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Nurses, American Nurses Association, National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Specialties).

• Licensure:Current, full, active and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse 

* Security: Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
* Life Support Certification: Possess a current AHA OR ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification.

 

Pay Scale: $60.00 -  $90.00 per hour, to be determined based on qualifications, experience, and location
