ERP International is seeking an MS SQL Server Database Administrator to support our Federal customers in the DC Metropolitan area.  The ideal candidate will have strong MS SQL Server experience working with standalone and Azure SQL server implementations. Ability to obtain a Federal Background Check required.

Salary Range $105K -$120K

 

The salary range for this position is determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, qualifications, skill level, and location. The final salary offer will fall within this range and will be commensurate with the candidate’s background and the specific demands of the role.

Responsibilities

The DBA will be responsible for managing, maintaining, performance tuning MS SQL Server Databases on premises and on MS Azure Cloud and ensuring all cybersecurity and DoD compliance requirements are met.  This position involves ensuring data integrity, optimizing performance, and supporting our team with database-related tasks. The candidate will also be responsible for ensuring DB systems and services are certified for operational readiness (desired state configuration, security, health and performance).

 

Objectives of this Role:

  • Ensure the smooth operation of the database framework.
  • Recommend approach for separating transactional data and historical reporting.
  • Deploy new database functionality, as necessary/when required.
  • Ensure high availability of database and related services.
  • Improve performance with index implementation and optimization.
  • Provide a seamless flow of information by maintaining high availability and performance of database systems.
  • Safeguard sensitive information and ensure data integrity.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, install, configure, and administer database systems.
  • Implement and manage data security protocols, including access controls and encryption.
  • Create and manage DB schema objects including tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Monitor DB performance, tune for optimal efficiency, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Perform DB tuning, coordinate application releases, and troubleshoot DB issues including slowness and latencies.
  • Patching the DB and applying any relevant product updates.
  • Build the automation scripts for managing database infrastructure.
  • Coordinate and assist with performing SQL DB STIG checks.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3 - 7 years of experience in database administration.

Experience installing and operating MS SQL Server in MS Azure.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive on an Agile delivery team.

 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • MS Certification(s) in Azure or SQL Server.

             

Work Authorization Requirements:

  • Must be eligible to work in the US and be able to obtain a Confidential (tier 1) clearance
