Responsibilities

Schedule:
Monday-Friday 0730 to 1630 hours.
 
Job Specific Details and Tasks:

 

  • Travel & Training: In accordance with AFI 44-176 Section 12.1, the following travel and trainings will be required:
  • To ensure that the GPM is optimally trained for the position, GPMs must attend the resident AFMS GPM Orientation Course conducted at the Medical Education and Training Campus (METC) within two to four months of assuming the GPM position.
  • The GPM will attend an Access Improvement Seminar during the first year of each assignment as a GPM.
  • GPMs will attend the Air Force Medical Home Operations (AFMHO) Course within 6 months of assignment as a GPM.
  • GPMs will attend the Appointing Information Systems Hands-on Training Course during their first assignment as a GPM.
  • Responsible for measuring/assessing clinical business activities with an emphasis on improving clinical product line performance. Participates in budgeting, scheduling, productivity, logistics, strategic planning, and beneficiary satisfaction initiatives for inpatient and outpatient services internal and external to the military treatment facility (MTF).
  • Performs analysis and provides business perspective for assigned clinical product lines.
  • Identifies most resource-effective services, streamlining operations as needed and increasing efficiency.
  • Responsible for regularly presenting key management indicators (i.e. accessibility to care) to the Executive Staff. The Group Practice Manager will normally be the MTF Access Manager.
  • Assists professional, support and administrative staff in optimizing patient care and clinical progress.
  • Assist Health Care Integrator (HCI) and clinical teams with the implementation of clinical best practices. Key participant in strategic planning.
  • Advise departments associated with the allocation of fiscal, personnel, equipment and
  • space practices, Key participant in strategic planning.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and tracking of short -term and long-term clinic business plans associated with goals and objectives, medical group mission and strategic plan, and Air Force Medical Service Mission.
  • Represent assigned clinics in the assessment of data provided in support of Expeditionary Case Analysis (ECA), Currency Case Analysis (CCA), and Business Case Analysis (BCA) initiatives.
  • Coordinates daily operations with the short- and long-term business plans to ensure progress is made toward set goals.
  • Assists in the writing of long- and short-term business plans by representing assigned clinics, analyzing past data, and forecasting future workloads. Pulls reports from various databases and analyzes data to provide recommendations and information to assigned clinics, other departments or executive staff members.
  • Performs cost analyses and cost effectiveness studies, identifies most resource effective procedures and product lines, determining which are provided internally or externally and analyzes financial impact of proposed policies/programs and recommends options.
  • Using higher headquarters provided staffing models, proactively identifies staffing deficits and advises on mechanisms to offset such as the reallocation of resources, use of manning assistance, over-hires etc.
  • Promotes clinical compliance with TRICARE access standards, measures access to care and makes recommendation to further compliance.
  • Supports Provider teams in adherence to accreditation/certification for JCAHO/HIS requirements within the realm of clinical business processes.
  • Assists in developing business and marketing strategies and plans for assigned clinics.
  • Ensures timely review, analysis, and adjustment of marketing strategies, plans and programs to meet the organization's needs and the changing market conditions.
  • Responsible for the development, maintenance and presentation of key management indicators regarding efficiency/effectiveness in clinical resource utilization. Seeks to optimize clinical productivity, efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Uses a variety of process/performance improvement, automation and staff/space allocation techniques to enhance services and clinical performance.
  • Provides element chiefs and SGH feedback regarding the referral process.
  • Provides consultative service to Executive Leadership Team (ELT), Executive Committee of the Medical Staff (ECOMS) and other MTF entities as directed or necessary.
  • Promotes effective vertical and horizontal communication and optimal information flow.
  • Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional development to keep pace with trends in health care administration. Attends and participates in MTF corps- specific meetings, and in -service training sessions.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:  Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Management, Clinical Engineering and Health Management/Health Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Health Administration, Health Information Technology, Health Management and Policy, Health Services Administration, Healthcare Administration/Management, Hospital Administration, Information Systems Management, Management Science, or Statistics/Operations Research.
Experience: 5 years of Healthcare experience in a hospital environment.
Life Support Certifications: BLS, Have and maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) by the American Heart Association.
Security: Must be able to pass a Government background check and obtain a Government security clearance.
 
Pay Scale: $60.00/hr to $64.91/hr, to be determined based on employment options, qualifications, experience, and location
