Responsibilities

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0600 -1800 hours. Shifts will normally be scheduled for an 8.5, 9.5 or 10.5-hour period

No Weekends and No Holidays.

 

Core Duties:

• Attend clinic and participate as a fully participating member of the treatment team with considerable influence in the development of the treatment plan.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments of such as gait, range of motion, and lifestyle for patients
• with a wide range of complex medical conditions which include unusual problems or complications and design unique or innovative devices to accommodate those conditions.
• Design, fabricate, and repair custom prosthetic limbs, orthopedic braces, and other medical devices based on patient needs.
• Apply materials such as plastics, composites, metals, and leather used in fabrication in order to design and fabricate prescribed devices considering new and emerging technologies.
• Recognize physical abnormalities, deviations, and complicating conditions with potentially life-threatening implications.
• Provide patient evaluation, prosthesis design, fabrication, fitting and modification to treat limb loss for purposes of restoring physiological function and/or cosmesis.
• Fit, adjust, and modify devices to ensure optimal comfort, functionality, and performance. Educate patients and their families on the proper use, care, and maintenance of their devices to ensure safety and effectiveness. Provide dedicated follow-up care to monitor patient progress and address any issues.
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including treatment history and device specifications.
• Provide hands-on training to other orthotists/prosthetists, medical staff, residents on new technologies and innovative devices.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degree: Bachelor's degree - Graduate from an accredited program with a major study in prosthetics approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE) accredited residency program
• Experience:
One year of experience within the last two years in prosthetics.

• Certification: Certified by the American Board for Certification in Prosthetics and the Board for Prosthetist Certification.

Security: Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.

 

Pay Scale: $55/hr to $60/hr, to be determined based on employment options, qualifications, experience, and location
