Schedule:

Normal business hours are 0600-1700, Monday-Friday with 1-hour lunch, shift to be determined by flight leadership. 

Job Specific Responsibilities and Tasks: Duties may include but are not limited to:

• The Pharmacy Technician will perform pharmaceutical dispensing duties including filling out new outpatient prescriptions, refilling prescriptions, and entering orders into databases.
• Perform information consultation duties include supporting new and refill prescriptions, supporting patient requests, supporting physician’s requests, monitoring for drug interactions, and reporting adverse drug reactions.
• The Pharmacy Technicians will complete quality improvement duties including performing drug storage inspection, reviewing expired supplies, and producing error and workload reports and documentation.
• Perform supply process duties including placing new orders, stocking/restocking shelves, inventory maintenance, producing not in stock reports.
• The Pharmacy Technician will clean pharmacy equipment and facilities as required by pharmacy management.
• Qualified to be trained to operate government vehicles to complete duties.
• Transport and restock medications to the kiosks on Maxwell AFB.
• The Pharmacy Technician will dispense medications and supplies to patients and clinics.
• Review patients computerized drug profiles and adhere to pharmacy policy/operating instructions when discrepancies are found.
• The Pharmacy Technicians will attend and participate in professional staff conferences and other appropriate professional activities.
• Complete all required electronic medical record training, MTF-specific orientations and training programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Degree: Certificate.
* Education: Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or a formal pharmacy technician program (i.e., technical, hospital, or retail-based program)or a formal medical services training program of the United States Military.
* Certification: Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
* Experience: One year of experience as a pharmacy technician within the past 36 months.

* Security: Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
* Life Support Certification: Possess a current AHA OR ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
